hand shakeCorporate Committee
The chapter’s Corporate Committee is focused on identifying, developing and stewarding our corporate partners across all events and programs. Committee volunteers play a vital role in helping the chapter expand our network by reaching out to his/her personal and professional contacts and engaging them in our mission to turn Type One into Type None. This committee meets monthly by conference call, with 2-3 in-person meetings per year and is perfect for volunteers who enjoy sales and networking.

Stewardship
Join our Stewardship Committee and have a chance to thank our partners and sponsors for supporting JDRF. This is great for volunteering with your family or kids, on your own time, and in your own neighborhood. This puts a “face” and story to JDRF and that will encourage the employees to be more engaged in the fundraising program.

Share your story and bring awareness to the community about type 1 diabetes and JDRF’s investments in research. Members of the JDRF family are needed to attend and speak at health fairs, government agencies, companies, and third-party events. JDRF Staff will train and help you meld your story/experience with JDRF’s mission and vision to turn type one into type none!

*This program involves further training and an interview process.

Communications Committee
The chapter’s Communications Committee works in partnership with staff and committee members to develop a Media plan that incorporates strategies for all events/programs with regard to event promotion. Members work to develop relationships with various local media outlets, as well as work to create press releases and media advisories. This committee meets monthly by conference call, with 2-3 in-person meetings per year and is perfect for volunteers with professional interest and experience in communications, marketing and public relations.

mentorOutreach Programs & Events:
Outreach is a critical program at JDRF, helping to connect newly diagnosed individuals and families with support and information on life with T1D. From the TypeOneNation Summit, Online Diabetes Support Team to family mentoring programs and community health fairs, outreach volunteers share both information and hope in our local communities.

Gala Auction Committee
For a behind the scenes look at JDRF’s annual galas, join the Gala Auction committees in either DC or Maryland and help make this year’s Galas (DC – November 7th and MD – November 14th) more successful than ever. As a committee members, you would help think of, find, and procure new and fun ideas to intrigue our guests and thank them for their support of T1D research.

JDRF Offices
Interested in helping at one of our offices? Our chapter welcomes office volunteers with skills in data entry, organization, graphic design, writing/editing, mailings and the million and one tasks it takes to fund T1D research.
