What are you most excited about in the progress to Type None?
“I am excited about the positive results we are seeing in outpatient Artificial Pancreas trials.  I cannot wait for the day that we have this technology available as I have seen how much it will help us manage T1D!”

What are you most excited about in the progress to Type None?
“Over the years I have read so many articles about how we are so close to a cure, this experiment was successful, that advancement is almost to consumers, etc, and countless times I have heard from supportive family, friends, and even strangers, “oh you’ll definitely see a cure in your lifetime.” But as a child I quickly learned to take all of those tidbits with a grain of salt. Because, to me, none of those things really affected me and weren’t worth getting my hopes up about until I didn’t have to test my blood sugar multiple times a day, until I didn’t have to give myself shots and pump site changes, until I didn’t cry for seemingly no reason just because my sugar was off, or until I didn’t have to pack a large bag full of supplies for a one night at a friend’s house, only to turn around because I needed more insulin. To me, there is no cure until I can say, “I do not have diabetes anymore.” Now that I am working for JDRF, seeing the research first hand, meeting trial patients and seeing the artificial pancreas, I have never had more hope and been so excited that there WILL be a cure in my lifetime and I actually believe it.”

What are you most excited about in the progress to Type None?
“I am most excited to say that I am out of a job because type one has become type none with all of the promising research results special thanks to JDRF! I am looking forward to not having to worry about making sure that I have enough supplies to last me through weekend trips away from home, as well as not having the constant roller coaster of blood sugars and wondering why can’t they just stay put!”
