Thank you to our Volunteers!

You inspire us. When we consider the millions of hours our volunteers give to JDRF, the words “thank you” seem inadequate to express our profound gratitude. Volunteers are the heart of the JDRF family, the cornerstone of this unique organization, and the engine of our remarkable progress.Because of your partnership with JDRF staff, fundraising programs like the Walk, Ride, and Gala have helped us direct $110 million to type 1 diabetes (T1D) research last year alone. Most recently, we have seen an important milestone in the development of a fully automated closed-loop artificial pancreas system as well as the first human trial of a beta cell encapsulation therapy.Your hard work makes these exciting advances possible. Since you joined JDRF, you have put your time, talent, commitment, and knowledge behind our plan to turn Type One into Type None. Like you, we came to JDRF as volunteers. And it is hearing your stories and witnessing your passion as volunteers that drive us to work harder to guide this organization toward our shared goal of ending T1D.Though April 6–13 may be designated National Volunteer Week, at JDRF we celebrate our volunteers every day. No other organization can boast of the strong volunteer/staff partnership we share. On behalf of our families and colleagues, thank you for all that you do to help create a world without T1D.

JDRF is the largest nonprofit funder of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research in the world. Our goal is to eventually cure and prevent T1D entirely. Along the way to a cure, we seek to deliver an ongoing stream of therapies until we have turned Type One into Type None.
